Tractor Rollover Safety Concerns Trigger John Deere Recall
Tractor Rollover Safety Concerns Trigger John Deere Recall.
On October 31, 2019, John Deere initiated a recall of several models of its 4R Series of compact utility tractors due to rollover injury risks. According to the recall alert, support bolts securing the front cab of these tractors were torqued improperly during manufacturing. This can lead to the front cab collapsing during a rollover, potentially entrapping and crushing the operator.
The recall affects about 5,700 tractors manufactured by Deere & Company between October 2016 and September 2019. All affected tractors sport John Deere’s instantly-recognizable green and yellow color scheme. The tractor recall comes on the heels of John Deere’s September 2019 recall of nearly 20,000 “Gator” utility vehicles due to crashing concerns.
