Gunnison County, CO – Construction Worker Fatally Injured on US-50
Gunnison County, CO (June 30, 2021) – One man has lost his life following a workplace accident in Gunnison County on Tuesday. On June 29, emergency crews were called to the site of an incident on US Highway 50.
Reports from authorities show that a 69-year-old man from the Florissant area was working with the American Civil Constructors Mountain West, a subsidiary of Infrastructure & Energy Alternatives, Inc., when he became involved in an accident. The man was struck by a falling rock at the worksite.
Authorities rushed to the scene in an attempt to render aid to the man. However, he passed away from his injuries. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
