Peyton, CO – One Killed in Head-on Truck Crash on Highway 24

Peyton, CO (August 23, 2021) – One person has lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident in the Peyton area late Sunday morning. On August 22, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Highway 24.

Reports from the Colorado State Patrol show that a dump truck was traveling west on Highway 24 when it became involved in a head-on collision with an eastbound minivan. The impact of the crash caused the dump truck to proceed forward and crash into a pickup truck. A motorcyclist attempted to stop his vehicle to avoid the crash. However, his vehicle toppled over and ejected him.

One person involved in the crash sustained fatal injuries. The victim, identified as the adult female driver of the minivan, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three people in the dump truck and two people in the pickup truck were all transported to local hospitals with injuries. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
